Abstract :
We investigate the dynamics of N/spl times/N triangular Josephson junction (JJ) arrays and the same arrays where only diamond triangular pairs are retained. The diamond arrays are shown to be more stable and their stability is traced to the dynamical states of a single diamond. Using diamonds with 2 JJ´s on each horizontal link is shown to enhance rf output and facilitates the fabrication of arrays with HTS step-edge junctions. The effects of JJ defects and loads on array rf output are also considered.
