Abstract
Driving simulation has become an important process in many applications like: road design and driver impairment, human factor and traffic safety, vehicle design. In order to fully implement the simulation to wide range of application, it is imperative to develop high level control strategies popularly referred to a motion cueing algorithm. The paper presents state of the art motion cueing algorithms for a six degree of freedom (6DOF) driving simulator. Different types of algorithms will be described and an appropriate choice will be made taking in to account different criterions which will be discussed subsequently. To ensure a proper implementation in the physical simulator of the algorithm selected, several simulations are carried out resulting in the simulator platform displacement and orientation.
