Abstract
An experimental setup, which uses self-mixing interference inside a microchip laser, demonstrates that optical measures are possible on a rough target with a high signal to noise ratio. In particular it is shown that the Doppler-shift frequency in the audio range 0-100 kHz and up to 25 m is accessible without complex optics and sophisticated electronics
