Abstract :
To be available in the U.S. in the Spring of 1978, the Konica C35AF compact 35 mm camera will offer an electronic automatic focusing system in addition to automatic exposure and automatic built-in flash. The camera incorporates Honeywell´s Visitronic Auto/Focus module, an IC 2.5 by 6 mm with two light-sensitive detector areas. It compares an image falling on one of the detectors with an image falling on the other. When the two images generate maximum correlation (maximum output voltage from the IC), the IC prouces a step-function voltage change which works with external control ciruitry to automatically position the lens in the camera. The camera is the product of Konishiroku Photo Industry Co., Ltd. of Tokyo, Japan, and will be marketed in the U.S. by Konica Camera Company.
