    Ivan A. Getting, president of the Aerospace Corporation, has been elected President of IEEE for 1978. Dr. Getting received 28 161 votes to defeat Irwin Feerst (21 753 votes) in the third contested election held by the Institute. The new Executive Vice President is C. Lester Hogan, who defeated Carleton A. Bayless for this office.
