Funding for setting up an independent company in the Chicago area is being sought by members of Zenith Radio Corporation´s flat-panel TV display group. With the discontinuation of Zenith´s Research Department, the group — headed by Joseph Markin, Alan Sobel, and Michael De Jule — seeks a new home to continue its research. The group has already produced a monochrome device that produces bright pictures with excellent gray scale at near-TV rates. Other advantages listed are high efficiency and low drive-circuit costs.
