Abstract :
The main difference in topology of a boost bridge amplifier and state-of-the-art class-D amplifier is in the connection of a loudspeaker between a power supply and a switching bridge. The boost bridge amplifier provides four times higher peak power at the loudspeaker than the power, which can be achieved by a class-D amplifier from the same power supply. Total harmonic distortion and amplifier efficiency are appropriate to a class-D amplifier, while power supply noise rejection is increased, at the expense of slightly increased loudspeaker dissipation
