Communicating through poster sessions

At a poster session at a technical conference there is no captive audience. A modest amount of showmanship is therefore helpful in attracting attention. Fewer and bigger rather than more visuals are usually best; detailed information can be provided in other ways. Charts must be simple and legible. A photograph of the presenter helps newcomers identify him among the other visitors. Means for collecting names and addresses for further correspondence should be provided.
