Abstract
Applying Parking Guidance Information System (PGIS) is one effective solution to alleviate parking problems. In this paper, we propose a simulation study for evaluating the performance of real-time parking guidance. An optimal parking space allocation algorithm is proposed with respect to driving/walking distances, parking convenience and safety issues. Test shows that PGIS leads to obvious performance improvement especially when the arriving rate is moderate.
