Abstract
A chemical sensor using tandem wavelength-tunable lasers monolithically integrated with a field combiner and a photodetector is presented. The evanescent field of one laser senses small changes in refractive index due to impurities or binding of antigens, and induces a shift in the heterodyne frequency
