Abstract :
Frequency step-tunability is demonstrated in a hybrid fibre grating external cavity laser for the first time. This new configuration uses an in-fibre sampled Bragg grating as the frequency selective element which allows the laser to be step-tuned by 100 GHz from 1551.09 to 1556.66 nm.
