Abstract
Necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a decoupling bicausal precompensator for multivariable 2-D systems are derived in state-space and frequency domains. In general, the decoupling problem for 2-D systems can be solved by feedback compensators if suitable injectivity assumptions are introduced on the input-state matrices. The structure of dynamic compensators is derived for this case, and the 2-D decoupling problem with stability is solved
