Abstract
Absorbing boundary conditions (ABCs) are developed that can be applied on object-conformable outer boundaries. The new ABCs are based on the local enforcement of the Nth order Bayliss-Turkel boundary conditions where a scattering center is defined for each outer boundary node. A demonstration of the effectiveness of the new construction is provided by considering representative numerical experiments using the finite-elements method. Results show that the new ABCs provide accuracy that compares very favorably with the method of moments solution
