Abstract
It is pointed out that rain, which can be treated as an object in the atmosphere, will cause a time spread of radar echo signals, as does the land when the radar grazing angle is low. For the pseudo-random code continuous wave (PRC CW) radar, the time-spread echo signals at a specified moment will be the superposition of some spread echo signals in a period of time before this specified moment. A superposition algorithm is proposed for calculating the PRC CW radar signal. Based on previous results on the characteristics of rain and land clutter, the power spectra of the echo signal of rain and land clutter for the PRC CW radar are investigated by a theoretical analysis and a simulation method
