Abstract :
Error-free repeaterless transmission of two 10 Gbit/s wavelength division multiplexed channels over 236 km using adiabatic soliton propagation has been demonstrated. The 150 GHz optical bandwidth of each channel is converted by the adiabatic evolution to 12.5 GHz, allowing dense wavelength multiplexing. Channel separations of 100 and 675 GHz are compared
