  • Abstract
The reasons for delay of commercialization of Maglev for public transportation are presented. It is argued that both the magnetic suspension and the propulsion motor should be self-regulating, and the feasibility of self-regulation is proved. A brief description of Amlev´s design and the principles of operation of its self-regulating magnetodynamic suspension and permanent magnet propulsion motor are presented. The advantages of Amlev over electromagnetic system (EMS) and electrodynamic system (EDS) Maglev are discussed
