Abstract :
Following on from results of measurements of the optical response of superconductors, a simple superconducting photomixer has been developed and analysed. The device operates via the optical modulation of the kinetic inductance, providing a true multiplicative mixing of the laser modulation with an electrical signal with very low harmonic distortion
