  • Abstract
The paper mentions that a technology appropriation perspective, augmented by complementary theories of change and the use of multiple methods, is a powerful way of explaining diverse uses of a system. It describes a multitheoretic and multimethod approach for investigating why information and communication technologies´ (ICT) patterns of use are so diverse across individuals and over time. Investigations of the individual and sociocultural influences on patterns of use tend to rely on a particular theoretical perspective and an aligned method.
