Abstract :
The authors propose and experimentally demonstrate a novel all-optical clock recovery (CR) scheme from 10 Gbit/s return-to-zero (RZ) data using an SOA/grating filter wavelength converter. Unlike conventional CR schemes which use modelocked fibre ring lasers that require stabilisation of the ring cavity for phase matching to occur, the proposed scheme is independent of the input polarisation and recovers stable clock pulses using the feedback loop for repetitive pulse intensity matching
