Abstract :
A novel method is proposed for mitigating the relaxation oscillations caused by channel add/drops for optically gain-controlled amplifiers. The method uses a time-dependent element in an optical feedback loop. Experiments are performed on a single coil amplifier that demonstrates the elimination of power fluctuations from relaxation oscillations
