Dual-band quasi-Yagi antenna with split ring resonator directors

Presented is a novel dual-band quasi-Yagi antenna with split ring resonator directors. The uniqueness of this design is based on its simple new director structure while yielding useful directivity and more importantly dual-band characteristics. These features are related to the two operating modes of the split ring resonator director. The unusual miniaturisation technique used for the proposed Yagi antenna is discussed. Experiment results demonstrate the validity of the presented approach and suggested structure.
