Abstract :
This special issue of IEEE Industrial Electronics Magazine is dedicated to Prof. Joachim Holtz and his outstanding contributions to power electronics and drives. I met Prof. Holtz many times during conferences and his visits to Warsaw, Poland. Our discussions about scientific subjects were always very interesting. Prof. Holtz is well known for his comprehensive publications that have inspired many researchers, as well as for his wonderful lectures that are always well attended.
