Abstract :
Linearisation of Mach-Zehnder modulators using an electrooptical predistortion configuration is demonstrated. Two-tone experiments have shown a nearly 20 dB reduction in third-order intermodulation distortion (IMD3) for 32% optical modulation index and an 11 dB improvement in spur-free dynamic range for shot noise limited transmission
