Abstract :
Magnetostatic surface waves propagation in yttrium-iron garnet film with surface periodic array of grooves was studied. Effective excitation of exchange spin waves traveling along the film thickness was experimentally shown. Using micromagnetic modeling it was shown that internal magnetic field inside the film is nonuniform both in plane (periodically) and along the thickness at bias magnetic field directed perpendicularly to grooves´ axis. The found nonuniformity is associated with good condition to excite exchange spin waves.
