Abstract :
An understanding of the factors affecting the inductive influence of transmission lines is required to co-ordinate power and telecommunications systems. A summary of these factors and new measures for quantifying the ability of a transmission line to cause interference are presented. The new measures are based upon large separation approximations to the mutual impedance, and are superior to existing methods as they model all significant phenomena and are simple to evaluate
