Abstract :
This paper presents an MPEG-4 camera, the first consumer-electronics product that uses the MPEG-4 video standard. The camera stores video and audio in an interchangeable flash memory card of up to 32 MB. The recorded video and audio can easily be transmitted over Internet or be used as motion pictures contained in home pages. We describe an overall system structure including DSP and ASIC, a codec used for video and audio, a file format for multiplexing video and audio, and discuss applications to Internet
