Abstract :
The structure and implementation are presented of a software event monitor for studying and learning real-time programming. This monitor produces a complete time-stamped event history sequence associated with an execution of the real-time programs. It is concluded that the use of the monitor in conjunction with programs designed to illustrate selected real-time situations and parameterized to permit experimentation provides a very useful laboratory-experiment basis for teaching this material
