Abstract :
Wireless sensor networks have gained a lot of importance in system monitoring, actuation, automation and process control. The complexities and the costs associated with a wired network have largely been overcome by wireless network. ZigBee, one of the most popular and highly efficient wireless sensor modules, follow a definite routing protocol. Environmental monitoring and conservation is one of the essential issues in any country. In this work, such an application model has been dealt with, where the temperature and the humidity data of a particular area have been monitored. The nodes of the wireless sensor network follow a shortest path algorithm to transfer the data from the sensors to the control station. The temperature and the humidity of certain place are sensed and then these data are transmitted by the shortest path available. The code for shortest path algorithm is developed and run in Turbo C and the result is shown mathematically. The same program is run using MikroC for generating the hex code which is compatible to the microcontroller. Wireless transmission of the data through the shortest path is aimed towards an energy aware routing procedure.
