Abstract :
Issues like restructuring of power markets, fossil fuel shortage and environmental pollution are encouraging higher penetration of solar PV in the LV residential system. This paper presents a case study on a 2 kW grid connected PV system without battery storage, being located near Siliguri in Darjeeling District (West Bengal). The latitude and longitude of the study area are 26° 72´N and 88° 41´E respectively. Both economic, like payback period, as well as environmental analyses have been performed on the system under optimal PV energy output condition and compared with the grid-only (Base) case. Finally sensitivity analysis is performed to optimize the system at different conditions.
