Abstract
Is it possible to define business methods let alone regard them as patentable items of intellectual property? This article argues that companies with valuable business method ideas should consider patenting those ideas. This article reviews the definitions of business methods and attempts a categorisation of examples of business method inventions, with a view to raising awareness of which features of business models may be protectable by patents.
