Abstract :
This paper presents the development of a computer-controlled piezo manipulation system for biomedical applications such as intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). The hardware set-up and control strategies are described in detail to illustrate the advantages of this approach compared to manually based injection methods. When used for ICSI an improved success rate in terms of oocyte survival and fertilisation is achieved
