Abstract :
Renewable energy is alternative power source for distributed power supply to produce clean and reliable electricity. India has high potential and abundant availability of wind energy to generate low cost electricity. This paper presents the modeling and analysis of load connected wind energy systems using time-domain MATLAB simulator. This paper contributes a novel single stage AC to AC converter, as a feasible option to AC to DC to AC converter system, to interface with grid or load as a distributed generating system. New Time switching patterns and a control strategy for AC to AC converter is presented. The dynamic behavior of an AC to AC converter and controller are demonstrated for different scenario of wind behavior. The studies based on the behavior of wind and operation of AC to AC controller concludes that an AC to AC converter is technically an alternative option to interface a wind turbine with load.
