            Abstract :
This paper has proposed a cost-effective location tracking method for future generation macrocell-femtocell based LTE network where femtocells are deployed within the macrocells. A new database, DM is maintained at each macrocell base station to denote the presence of a mobile terminal within macrocell or femtocell. Considering the information contained in DM, selective paging is performed. The proposed selective paging considering received signal strength by each mobile terminal achieves 76-87% and 16-41% reduction in paging cost and delay respectively than previous approach.
