Abstract :
A new model for the cell residence time is proposed. This is summarised as: the cell residence time follows a two-component distribution consisting of an exponential and a generalised gamma distribution describing the effects of the shadowing and the mobility characteristics, respectively. Also new call and handed-over call distributions must be treated separately and must not be related through the excess life theorem
