Abstract
This paper aims in assessment of stable operating zone of real and reactive power output of an alternator. To achieve this goal a real alternator along with resistive load has been used. Then the alternator of same rating and same parameters is modeled in Real Time Digital Simulator (RTDS) for reactive load like inductive and capacitive load. NI-DAQ card has been used to measure different parameters (like output voltage, current, frequency, power factor) both from the real alternator and the RTDS model alternator. The LabVIEW software has been used to estimate the most important parameter like load angle, Real power and Reactive power and therefrom the stable operating zone of the alternator is assessed.
