Abstract :
While enjoying previous and anticipating future growth, the companies involved in wireless technology cite longstanding employment concerns. Companies are not able to hire the requisite number of individuals who possess knowledge and skill in wireless technology: individuals who can be readily productive in the wireless workplace. These concerns exist even in today´s slowed economy. In 1997, a model was created in the United States that took into account this concern, and that has positively affected the workforce for wireless technology companies. Through the Global Wireless Education Consortium (GWEC), a collaboration of industry and education, colleges and universities throughout the world are preparing students in greater number who, collectively, represent a higher quality technology workforce for the future
