Abstract :
After some essential relationships are analyzed between fuzzy sets and vague sets, it is found that the uncertain boundaries of the two kinds of sets can be described by a subinterval. Based on the idea of vague sets, the similarity measuring method between fuzzy sets is developed. Finally, a uniform model is proposed for measuring the similarity of the two same type sets mentioned above. According to this uniform model, it is proved that fuzzy sets and vague sets are equivalent on measuring the similarity of two same type sets. Some of the properties of this model are also presented. This model is very useful to settle intelligent data information processing and fuzzy control problems.
