Abstract
Two types of antenna arrays, which are used as the radiating devices in the microwave technique, are examined. The amplitude radiation characteristics of antennas are optimized in a wide frequency band. These characteristics are obtained by means of statement and solution of the appropriate synthesis problems. The variational statement of problems allows to take into account the requirements to the amplitude radiation pattern in the operating frequency band as well as outside of this band. The methods of successive approximations are applied for solving the received nonlinear integral equations, as well as the direct optimization of the used functionals is carried out. The results of numerical modeling are shown
