Abstract
A novel structure called the V-groove passive alignment structure (VGPAS), which has the advantage of easy optical alignment during assembly of optical interconnection modules, is presented. A high-precision V-groove fabrication technique is utilized to fabricate the components of the structure, and apparatus suitable for assembling was developed. Evaluation of the alignment precision proved the effectiveness of the VGPAS
