Abstract :
The dual approach to signal restoration was studied extensively by R.M. Leahy and C.E. Goutis (1986), who did not provide an explicit formula to generate the signal models and their dual problems. The present authors complement that work by providing explicit formulas and correct some of the dual functionals published. They also discuss several easy ways to apply sufficient conditions under which the dual approach is applicable and discuss what would happen to the dual functional if the measurements were not restorable
