Abstract :
Design of ultra-reliable real-time fault-tolerant multiprocessor systems is complexity and time-consumed. Previous systems mainly rely on special hardware and special operating systems. Current commercial real time operating systems can´t satisfy the requirement of ultra-reliable systems, we present the approach to the design of fault-tolerant operating system, which based on COTS software and hardware. By introducing the redundant mechanism on multiprocessor systems into the COTS operating system´s kernel, our fault-tolerant operating system completely supports the ultra-reliable real time application.
