Abstract :
A partial shading effect simulation using multi small-scale PV module simulator units is demonstrated. The simulator circuit used in the module simulator magnifies an I-V output of a pn photo-sensor using analog technique. A grand line of each module simulator unit is separated each other, hence any topology of connections are available. Synthesized output characteristics in series and parallel connection of the module simulator units were examined. The each simulator circuit is simple compare to the conventional methods and complex I-V characteristics of PV array by partial shading could easily be emulated.
