Abstract :
In this paper, an artificial intelligent approach based on genetic algorithms (GAs) for induction motor efficiency optimization is suggested and investigated. The efficiency improvement strategy consists of adjusting the magnetizing current component with respect to the torque current component in order to minimise the total copper and iron losses of the machine. Some simulation performances are presented and a comparative study is carried out between the results obtained by using GAs method and a conventional one. The GA results reveal that the efficiency of the induction motor (IM) can be improved over a large load operating range especially in light region.
