Title :
Improved stabilisation efficiency in synthetic ferrimagnetic media
fYear :
2002
Abstract :
Summary form only given. The thermal stability of synthetic ferrimagnetic media (SFM) is investigated as a function of the exchange coupling strength (J) and the anisotropy energy (KuV) of the stabilizing layer. J is varied by changing the Ru thickness from 0.5 nm to 1.1 nm. The J dependence of the thermal stability factor KuV/kT for SFM is shown. By slightly increasing J, significant improvements in thermal stability can be further achieved.
