Abstract :
In this study, a novel hybrid intelligent system (HIS) that provides a unified framework of numerical and linguistic knowledge representation is deployed. The HIS is equipped with the ability of representing and reasoning cause-and-effect relationships involving temporal dynamics. To evaluate the system´s performance, the experimental results on a hot-cold water mixer simulator show a convincing capability of extracting temporal relationships from a dynamic process.
