Abstract :
Summary form only given. A new writer with submicron trackwidth was fabricated. Its main feature was to use the thickness of magnetic films to replace the width of pole-tip as the recording trackwidth. The effect of planarization. by hard-curing photoresist was the key to obtaining excellent soft magnetic properties of the core films. The dependence of inductance on dc bias current is sensitive to head size, shape, permeability of magnetic films, the spatial coupling of the coil with core and stability of magnetic domain.
