Abstract :
Summary form only given. With a rapid increase in the recording density in recent years, the pole tip materials of write heads are required to enhance magnetic induction Bs so as to write bits on high coercivity media. We have developed the soft magnetic FeCoAlO films with Bs = 2.2 T as write head materials. In this work, we present the film properties (such as magnetic properties, microstructure and corrosion resistance) and the properties of write heads with the pole tip consisting of the FeCoAlO films.
