Abstract :
This paper deals with a new uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) which aims at integration of series and parallel active power filters to form at the same time a unified power quality conditioner (UPQC). In this on-line UPS the series converter is the main converter of the system that supplies and regulates the load voltage in different operation mode of the UPS and the parallel active filter mitigate load current harmonics and charges the battery in the bypass mode. The principal function of the proposed system is explained and several simulation results are shown to demonstrate the dynamical behaviour and viability of the proposed UPQC-UPS in different cases such as voltage dips, current and voltage harmonics distortion, load changing and voltage interruption.
