Abstract :
Building upon work that has described families of chaotic functions with wallpaper symmetries, this paper presents several orbit trap methods for creating artistic patterns by the iteration of these chaotic functions in the rectangular coordinates plane. By setting appropriate orbit traps (in particular, by using chaotic attractors with wallpaper symmetries as orbit traps), visually fascinating images with wallpaper symmetries can be generated in this way, and some of them exhibit an intricate 3-D appearance
