  • Abstract
    A wavelet neural network is applied to impulse noise removal in digital images. After the position of the noise is detected by the wavelet neural network, the proposed method is able to effectively eliminate the impulse noise while preserving more fine details. Visual evaluation and detailed statistical analysis are employed to compare the method with traditional median filtering. The results indicate the superiority of the proposed method
